Dual plate check valve is a kind of automatic mechanical valve, which opens with a forward flow and shuts to a reversal inflow. It uses two spring-loaded plates mounted on the central hinge screw. When the flow reduces, the torsion spring movement closes the plates before the flow reversal takes place.
For wafer type connection, the valve is mounted between the flanges, and the bolts for the flanges are attached to it. There are also some cantering holes on the body of some wafer forms to ensure the proper positioning of the valve between the flanges. The lugged type connection is similar to wafer type, but have slight variations. The lugged holes are drilled and there is a lug hole for each bolt hole on the flanges. And each thread hole has two bolts, one from each flange on opposite sides.
Wafer check valves are applied to pipe system, as the safe installation of preventing the medium flow back. They are good at non-returning, safety, reliability, small flow resistance, mainly applied to systems of petroleum, chemical industry, food, medication, light textile, water supply and drainage, and energy etc., and used as one-way valve.

When fluid flows in the correct direction, the disc swings open to allow the fluid to pass through. When the flow stops, or the flow direction changes, the disc swings back and closes the valve to prevent backflow.
